Growing up, Douglas always had what was referred to as a "baby face." His classmates at Bryn Manor College always called him Dougie Boy in what he assumed was in reference to his inability to grow a mustache and beard. It was a challenging time for Douglas especially since his main desire in life was to finish his law degree and become a federal judge, preferably somewhere out west. To administer justice to an unruly frontier outlaw, however, Douglas knew he would have to strike a more authoritative pose.
