My name is George Gunderson and I like cake. I like cake so much I do not think I ever want to know how it is made for fear it will ruin the experience. The magnificent, sweet frosting that is transformed into all those delicate flowers and fancy decorations, I do not understand how they achieve those wonders. I do not want to understand.

Every day I walk to the bakery shop on Third Street. Mr. Carlson, the baker, knows me well and understands that I do not want to know the flavor of the cake I am purchasing for I want to be surprised. There are days when I do not purchase a cake because I cannot afford to do so. Those are the hardest days to get through as all I can do is stare at the windows. But then the morning comes on a day when I know I will purchase a cake and I am filled with joy.
