The household of J. B. Barnes bustled with activity both anxious and excited. On one hand, J. B. was caring for his ailing mother. On the other, J. B.'s wife was expecting their first child. J. B. hoped his mother would meet her grandchild before joining his father in the beyond, but unfortunately fate had other plans. Three days before George Barnes II was born, she passed quietly in her sleep.

J. B. was determined to find some way to honor his mother as Georgie would now carry on his father's name. When his wife informed him that in the chaos of the last weeks, they had forgotten about ordering a baptismal gown, J. B. came up with what he thought was a brilliant solution. They would use his mother's favorite night dress instead.
